Silence, Industry

So today I followed the virtue of silence by listening to others instead of speaking myself. I try to help my friends and try to make them feel better but I have realized that speaking doesn't always solve all problems sometimes you just have to listen...
This picture shows  that in silence you can hear a lot of things. Hoofbeats, the sound of the wind, the breath of a horse... you can learn a lot just from listening.

Today I ignored the virtue of tranquility because I got mad about some of the things that are happening around school. I don't want to talk about them or else I will become mad again at a lot of people.

Order, Frugality

http://shopcraftwarehouse.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Today I followed the virtue of order because I bought a scrapbook to organize my photos from my trip from National FFA convention. I bought a scrapbook kit called Project Life it is a pretty cool thing. It uses pretty much like baseball card holders but they are big enough to hold pictures and they come with cool design cards to help decorate it.

Today I ignored the virtue of frugality because I bought this fancy scrapbook kit but it was worth it. I completely enjoy doing this so I am having a blast!

Resolution, Silence

Today I followed the virtue of resolution. I followed this virtue by actually writing this post today even though it is hard and kind of boring. Nevertheless, I make it through this awful work and I push through and work on completing this task. I am almost done with this I have completed almost all of my posts and it is due Friday.
Today I ignored the virtue of silence because people make me mad and I tend to explode on them so that included my voice so that defied my silence and I failed to follow this virtue.

Humility, Industry

Today I followed Benjamin Franklin's virtue of humility by being humble in my actions. This made me feel happy to see other people proud of so many things. I realized that if I just humble myself among so many people you learn so much more about them.

By being humble you can see the amazing character of many people.

Today I ignored the virtue of industry. I am behind on my schoolwork and they all want me to make it up on the same day but I couldn't make it up earlier because some of my teachers were out of school and this made it difficult for me to make up tests and quiz assignments. I am going to try and figure out this schedule so that I can finally get caught up.

Justice, Temperance

Today I followed Benjamin Franklin's virtue of justice because I have caused no one any harm and I have been kind to people and I try to act kindly to everyone though it is hard I believe that I have accomplished this goal.
This picture reminded me of justice because over the summer I met Senator Mike McIntyre at the congressional building.

Today I ignored temperance, because I ate a lot of food today and though I am full. I am not very happy, so I should have followed Benjamin Franklin's virtue and I may be happy today instead.

Chastity, Sincerity

Today I followed chastity which is one of Benjamin Franklin's virtues of happiness. I am not going to explain this virtue because I don't really think it needs explaining. Anyway you will have to trust me in my saying that I followed it.

Today I ignored sincerity.  I thought a lot of mean things against another rival school and while to me that made me happy I knew it was wrong and I shouldn't think those things. I mostly thought these things while I was at FFA convention which was a blast.

Resolution, Moderation

Today, I performed resolution by writing this blog... I have forgotten the past few days and that is bad. It has been busy and I got back into my resolution of writing in this again.

Today I ignored moderation because I ate a lot of food today and that makes me sleepy. Anyway I am going to go take a nap because I am tired because I ignored moderation.

Tranquility, Frugality

Today, I toured Churchill Downs, Home of the Kentucky Derby! Benjamin Franklin's thirteen virtues of happiness included one that touched home to me today. It was tranquility. In essence, tranquility means calm. The reason this hit home today is because we took a tour onto the racetrack, not any racetrack, the racetrack of the Kentucky Derby! It was amazing. There were exercise riders out on horses while we were there. When the horses came by I felt the calmest I had ever been in a long time. It made me feel alive and happy. The thundering hooves, the smell of the track, and the sound of the horses running by. It was stunning. I loved it. Benjamin Franklin was right when he said that tranquility makes you happy.
Today, I ignored Benjamin Franklin's virtue of frugality. I bought Starbucks... a pumpkin spic latte to be exact. It was amazing and totally worth it. I was sad that I spent the money but happy because it's a pumpkin spice latte! My classmate and I drank wonderful Starbucks coffee. I enjoyed it. They spelt my name wrong at first. The woman serving me started by spelling it with a C and I thought the rest of my name would be too hard for her to spell so I told her just to put KAT. Chaos! Enjoy this picture of it.

Order, Industry

In Benjamin Franklin's autobiography he says on the number three virtue of happiness is order. "3.  ORDER.  Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time." Today I began packing for my trip to Louisville, Kentucky for National FFA Convention. I used order to create a list of everything that I needed to pack. It was a prepared list and I packed everything that I needed for this trip. I had to create a list because I will be flying on a plane back home. I only use carry-on bags because it's cheaper to fly that way. So I created my list and I used it to pack all of my clothing and stuff that I needed.
My bags of stuff that I packed for my trip. ALL READY!

Today I failed to complete Benjamin Franklin's virtue of industry. It means not to waste time. Well I am queen of this and let's just say I watched like 3 episodes of a tv show while I was packing. Very unproductive, but oh well!

Cleanliness, Silence

Number 10 on Benjamin Franklin's list of qualities of happiness... Cleanliness. I exercised cleanliness today when I took a shower right before I went to sleep and it did make me feel a lot happier! Although my room is a disaster I got half of his true quality right, so I am counting it! I did feel happier which I believe was the goal of this.

Today I failed to acknowledge Ben Franklin's virtue of silence. Some reason today I felt like talking all day. It was kind of annoying to everyone else, but I had fun! YEA! Alright everybody! Post soon!

Welcome to the Blog

Hey everyone!
This is a new experience for me. I am creating this blog because of an English Project which makes us go through a journey of going through Benjamin Franklin's virtues of happiness. Thirteen in total, I will take you on my journey of my successes and failures of going through these virtues Benjamin Franklin wrote about in his autobiography.
