Today, I ignored Benjamin Franklin's virtue of frugality. I bought Starbucks... a pumpkin spic latte to be exact. It was amazing and totally worth it. I was sad that I spent the money but happy because it's a pumpkin spice latte! My classmate and I drank wonderful Starbucks coffee. I enjoyed it. They spelt my name wrong at first. The woman serving me started by spelling it with a C and I thought the rest of my name would be too hard for her to spell so I told her just to put KAT. Chaos! Enjoy this picture of it.

Tranquility, Frugality
Today, I toured Churchill Downs, Home of the Kentucky Derby! Benjamin Franklin's thirteen virtues of happiness included one that touched home to me today. It was tranquility. In essence, tranquility means calm. The reason this hit home today is because we took a tour onto the racetrack, not any racetrack, the racetrack of the Kentucky Derby! It was amazing. There were exercise riders out on horses while we were there. When the horses came by I felt the calmest I had ever been in a long time. It made me feel alive and happy. The thundering hooves, the smell of the track, and the sound of the horses running by. It was stunning. I loved it. Benjamin Franklin was right when he said that tranquility makes you happy.
