History of Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin was one of our founders of the United States. He was born on January 17, 1706 and he died on April 17, 1790. Benjamin Franklin was a major figure in the American Enlightenment period. He was the sixth United States President. Interesting fact he was the first postmasters general. He was a hard worker becoming a successful newspaper editor and printer in Philadelphia at the time period. Benjamin Franklin was an inventor of his time period he is accredited with the creation of the lightning rod, bifocals, the carriage odometer, and the glass harmonica (this is a musical instrument, not like your normal harmonica).
